A Heart To Serve

April 27, 2011 marked a dark and devastating day for residents in many southern states. Hundreds of tornados tore through the South, leaving a path of destruction that has never been seen before. Hundreds of lives were lost and so many families were left with nothing more than a concrete slab for a home. Feeling a huge burden for those impacted By these devastating storms, we began reaching out, in an effort to raise funds to help. God began to open door after door, and before we knew it, a simple fundraising effort turned into a mission trip, with over 30 volunteers signed up to travel across the country, to Smithville, MS and the surrounding communities there. Our volunteers reached out to their family, friends, co-workers, and employers, to collect donations of toiletries and baby items, as well financial support to fund the trip. We were met with an amazing outpouring of support and were able to charter a bus to take the team to MS, rather than driving vans and trailers. In just one month, the Mississippi Disaster Relief Mission trip was organized! What an amazing God we serve and what a blessing to be used to spread His love to those who are hurting, and in need in Mississippi!
